Hallands Djursjukhus is an animal hospital situated in Slöinge, in one of the most beautiful areas in the south west coast of Sweden.
The hospital has modern facilities and provides care for both small animals and horses. The equine hospital has five branch clinics; Travbanekliniken, Karlstad, Vaggeryd, Ljungby and Kungsbacka. The small animal hospital has one branch clinic, Travbanekliniken.
We are a team of 9 equine veterinarians, 13 small animal veterinarians, 21 veterinary nurses, 4 laboratory technicians and 18 veterinary assistants. The majority of the veterinarians have “specialistkompetensexamen”, a Swedish specialist degree, of equine-, canine-, or feline medicine and surgery respectively.
Additionally, one of the small animal veterinary surgeons has extensive knowledge in ophthalmology (diseases of the eye), in particularly hereditary eye conditions in dogs.
The hospital has modern facilities to accommodate hospitalisation of small animals and horses and carry out most surgical procedures, including arthroscopy. We provide a full range of diagnostic techniques, such as radiography (digitally processed), ultrasonography, CT (Computed Tomography), fibro-optic endoscopy/gastroscopy, ECG, and laboratory evaluations.
Emergencies are admitted at all times between 8:00 – 21:00 on weekdays and between 9:00 – 21:00 on weekends.
The second branch clinic was built in 2000 and has fully equipped equine and small animal clinic with x-ray facilities as well as laboratory and minor operating theatre. Travbanekliniken is situated just outside the race-track for standardbreeds in Halmstad.
